Westchester’s Ridge Hill’s Facebook Fans Get Surprise Holiday Treat
Four Days More of $100 Giveaways
Yonkers, NY – December 8, 2011 – As the holiday season kicks into high gear, Westchester’s Ridge Hill – the New York metropolitan area’s largest mixed-use outdoor shopping center – is responding in a variety of ways.
In the spirit of giving back, one Facebook fan receives a $100 Ridge Hill gift card, every day from December 1 to 12. To participate, guests are invited to “Like” the shopping center’s Facebook page, and check to see if they have been selected as the day’s lucky winner. Once chosen, each person has 24 hours to claim the prize.
December heralds the launch of Brazilian-style steakhouse Texas de Brazil and Guitar Center. The excitement at the 1.3-million-square-foot Ridge Hill also includes strolling carolers, live holiday-themed performances, and a giant piano – made famous by Tom Hanks in the movie “Big.”
In addition, guests can take instant pictures with Santa Claus and participate in a stuffed animal workshop located next to The Cheesecake Factory from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. every weekend until Dec. 18.
The 81.4-acre retail complex made headlines in October with the launch of retailers such as Whole Foods Market, Yard House, The Cheesecake Factory, H&M, Old Navy, Sephora, Orvis, Desigual and the area’s first L.L.Bean. Since then, popular brands like Gap, GapKids, Charming Charlie and Sur La Table have been added to the fray.
“People visit us from across the region,” said Geri Brown, director of marketing. “Ridge Hill offers an unparalleled experience. With distinctive architectural design, lush landscaping, a spectacular fountain and a children’s play area, it feels like a movie set!”
Additional new store openings are on tap at Ridge Hill in the New Year. In March 2012, well-known fashion retailer Lord & Taylor is scheduled to open an 80,000-square-foot location to anchor the retail complex, the first full-line store since its landmark mall opening in Alexandria, Va. in 2001.
Popular health club LA Fitness, trend-setting fashion retailer Republic of Couture, Italian restaurant Brio Tuscan Grille, and Cuban eatery Havana Central – the first outside Manhattan – are also expected early next year.
