Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano cut the ribbon to welcome Poll Brothers’ family-style Italian eatery
Yonkers, NY—Friday June 19, 2015—Come experience a restaurant where every meal tastes like Grandma made it! Yesterday, Ridge Hill, a Forest City Ratner Companies (NYSE: FCE.A) shopping and entertainment destination, celebrated the arrival of Angelo’s, a family-style restaurant serving up authentic Southern Italian cuisine, with an official ribbon cutting ceremony.
Situated in Ridge Hill’s prime Town Square (between Market and Second Streets) the 300-seat restaurant owned by Manhasset restaurateurs Poll Brothers will be attracting diners year-round, seven days a week. Long Island brothers and business partners Gillis and George Poll, who already have six acclaimed restaurants, created Angelo’s concept with a singular vision in mind: to provide guests with great value and quality food in a warm and fun environment that fosters family traditions and celebrations. Named after their grandfather, Angelo’s reveals an ambiance and striking interior that personifies New York’s “Golden Era,” boasting an eclectic blend of rustic styles and warm Italian grandeur.
“It is exciting to welcome another thriving, family-owned business to Ridge Hill," said Kathryn Welch, Executive Vice-President, Retail Development, Forest City Ratner Companies. "The Poll Brothers are known for cultivating a warm, fun environment, where guests can come with family, co-workers or their significant other and have a delicious meal. Angelo's is a terrific addition to Ridge Hill's dining options."
“With Angelo’s Ridge Hill is bringing Yonkers another wonderful dining experience,” said Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano. “The food, the atmosphere, the service – all first class. They have a repeat customer with me, and I encourage all to make a reservation as soon as possible.”
Mayor Spano and Yonkers Councilmember Michael Sabatino each presented a proclamation to Gillis and George Poll, officially welcoming Angelo’s to the Yonkers business community.
Having grown up working in their father’s restaurant, Pappas, of Sheepshead Bay, the brothers have first-hand knowledge of all aspects of running restaurants and understand the formula for success. The generous space will offer four dining areas, with two semi-private sections that are perfect for parties of 30-60 people. An open kitchen allows diners to glimpse the chefs at work. Stucco walls are adorned with vintage family photos, offset by plush, red leather banquettes. The bar area is spacious and inviting, with flat screen televisions, high-top tables and leather booths; perfect for enjoying a light bite, a beer or cocktail. For guests wishing to dine al fresco in the warmer months, French doors open onto an outdoor patio.
“Over the years, we have opened more than a half-dozen restaurants in the neighborhoods surrounding our hometown of Manhasset, NY. People living in Westchester are well-traveled and have sophisticated palates. They seek fine dining options close to home,” said Gillis Poll. “We strive to meet those demands with high-quality food and professional service in all our restaurants.”
George Poll continued, “Ridge Hill is the kind of place where people go not only to shop but to dine and be entertained. It’s more like a small town with great shopping and restaurants. It is a perfect opportunity to complement that fun, unique mix. Our menu and interior space are sure to delight the current visitors to Ridge Hill and attract a new following as well.”
