“Despicable Me 2” Concludes Westchester’s Ridge Hill’s Summer Movie Mondays Series

FREE Movie Showing Monday, August 11 at Sunset on Town Square

Yonkers, NY – August 6, 2014 -- Ridge Hill’s summer movie series will continue this coming Monday, August 11th with a FREE screening of Despicable Me 2.  This is the third and final of the successful screenings held at Town Square throughout the summer.  As with past screenings, there will be a number of activities offered all afternoon to guarantee the entire family is entertained.  Assembly Member Shelley Mayer of Yonkers will be on hand to introduce the movie.

“This summer series has been a terrific success, and we are thrilled to provide yet another day of family entertainment at Ridge Hill,” said Kathryn Welch, Executive Vice President, Forest City Ratner Companies, the developer and owner of Ridge Hill.   “We continually work to provide the best opportunities for families to come out and gather together with their neighbors for a fun and memorable experience while also shopping and dining.”

A new addition to this Movie Mondays will be a “Meet the Merchants Sidewalk Event” beginning at noon.  In preparation for the “Back to School” season, merchants will have special promotions along the sidewalks throughout Ridge Hill, making it easy for shoppers to stroll through to take advantage of special deals.  Any guest spending $25 or more on Monday, August 11 at Ridge Hill will be eligible for a free back-pack with school supplies by simply showing their receipts from the day at the Guest Services tent on Town Square.

As with past Movie Mondays, selected Ridge Hill restaurants will offer special dinner promotions for people who mention “Movie Mondays” when they get their pre-movie dinner.  Bonefish Grill, Havana Central, Texas de Brazil and Little Buddha all have special offers for movie-goers.

Ridge Hill will once again partner with Pass It On Kids' Kloset, a local nonprofit organization that provides clothing and accessories to boys and girls across Westchester County who live near or below the poverty level.  Ridge Hill encourages Movie Mondays’ attendees to bring donations of either children’s clothing or of monetary value to receive a special “Pass It On – Ridge Hill Savings Card.”

Pre-screening activities, beginning at 7:00 pm, are sure to delight all family members. Activities for the kids will include “Raise a Racquet” with Yonkers Tennis Center, beach ball giveaways by Lord and Taylor, exhibitions by WeeZee World, music by WHUD, and popcorn and refreshments from Whole Foods Market Yonkers. For the adults, Yonkers Brewing Company will be on hand to showcase some of their recent brews.
