The primary function of the Project Specialist Interiors is to close sales outside of the store retail location and maximize sales of interior projects (focus on kitchen and bath) and related products. This includes sales planning, in‐home and in‐store customer consultations, development of project proposals, and tracking of current and potential sales. The Project Specialist Interiors is responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction by demonstrating product and project expertise, providing follow‐through on projects, and executing flawless projects on time. The Project Specialist Interiors is required to train associates on sales tactics and related programs. Lastly, the Project Specialist Interiors is responsible for completing all other duties as assigned. Requires morning, afternoon, and evening availability any day of the week. Required to work a Corporate schedule determined by the needs of the business. Physical ability to move large, bulky and/or heavy merchandise. Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties.

Key Responsibilities:

Performs a final walk through with client and general contractor including inspection of work, remaining punch list items and projected timeline for punch list completion. PSI should be asking for referrals at this time as well.

‐Conducts post‐in‐home reviews with the general contractor confirming scope, products, and labor pricing for the project, gaining all needed information (for labor) to create the client proposal.

‐Communicates and uses the interiors value proposition (i.e., elevator speech) to move clients forward in the selling process.

‐ Follows the interiors selling process ensuring all clients have an in‐store meeting to begin the project process.

‐ Can role play with key associates the skills and process for generating and capturing high quality leads.

‐ Accurately completes the project profiles within the project tool during the sales process.

‐ Conducts final review and preparation for design reviews to make sure all people and products needed are available and priced.

-Overcomes client objections by understanding clients motivations and desired outcome of the project. Builds client relationships and asks the right qualifying questions to fully understand the scope of the project by delivering a superior client experience which includes an instore meeting, an in‐home visit, proposal development and a design review and closing to the client.

‐Performs design reviews including: an effective warm up and setting the agenda, review of the floor plan and elevations, final confirmations of scope and product selections, discussion of proposed timeline, and presentation of pricing, consistently and confidently asking for the sale.

‐Performs in‐home meetings including "owning the client relationship" to assess the project, capturing measurements, confirming product selections, and gaining a scheduled commitment (i.e., confirmed date and time with client) for a design review appointment with the client.

‐Performs in‐store meetings including establishing client relationships, gathering scope of project, initial product selections, determining project budget, and gaining a scheduled commitment (confirmed with general contractor) for an in‐home meeting.

‐Performs mid‐point meetings with client including inspection of work, remaining scope (using the punch list) and projected timeline for job completion.

‐ Performs pre‐construction meetings with general contractor and client including inspection of products, project scope confirmation, materials storage, working conditions and project timeline.

‐ Prepares all necessary samples, drawings, and collateral for design review. Items/products are then consistently staged for presentation to the client.

‐ Prepares the general contractor for the in‐home meeting including client background, scope of project and initial product choices being considered.

‐ Reviews project scope, products and final drawings with general contractor prior to conducting design review appointment with the client.

‐ Works with Sales Specialists to gather product selections and product pricing and meets the deadline for the committed design review date with the client.

‐Maintains the appointment calendar in the project tool, enabling all associates to schedule appointments for them.

‐ Maintains project folders.

‐ Attends Sales Specialist meetings, as applicable.

‐ Attends weekly 1‐1 meeting with Assistant Store Manager, providing detailed/comprehensive updates.

‐ Communicates and demonstrates detailed expertise on interior design and project management.

‐ Complies with all safety procedures.

‐ Conducts in‐home appointments on time and on schedule.

‐ Ensures all paperwork (e.g., contracts, job folders, pricing worksheets and proposal documentation) is filled out according to policy.

‐ Ensures work area is organized and maintained according to corporate standards.

‐ Follows up with all customers to maximize sales opportunities and client satisfaction.

‐ Maintains awareness of competitor pricing.

‐ Works with general contractors and/or installers to quote, sell and produce accurate jobs.

‐ Informs management of customer complaints, dissatisfaction, or problems throughout the life of the projects.

Skills & Experience Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

1 year experience as a Lowe's store associate.

OR 2 years experience in a job requiring architectural or interior design

AND 2 years experience in a job requiring face-to‐face sales.

OR Completion of Associate's Degree or certificate program in Architectural or Interior Design.

OR 3 years face‐to‐face sales experience.

AND If the state or local municipality requires a salesperson license for this position, you must either be licensed or pass the requisite licensing exam within sixty (60) days of starting employment in this position.

AND High School Diploma or equivalent.

AND Licensed driver with reliable transportation and ability to pass MVR screen.

Preferred Qualifications

2 years experience in a design job requiring kitchen and/or bath design.

2 years project management experience.

2 years in‐home or commission‐based sales experience.

2 years experience using design software such as 20/20 or Computer‐Aided Design.
